Your environment, inside and out, forms the basis for all your experience. It reflects your beliefs, which inform your perspective, and so subtly reinforces them. If one of your two worlds feels unsettled, the other one likely is, too.

A redesign of aesthetic goes hand in hand with energetics. How you feel in a space isn't about the things, but the way you perceive them. Making a house 'home'  is less about changing what's there, and more about changing how you relate to it. What does the space want to express? How does it want to interact with you? If you give it leave to speak, what poetry might it compose for you? 

The same is true for your inner world - it may feel like a noisy apartment complex, populated by thoughts and emotions that you wish you could just take out with the trash. But if your relationship to those thoughts and emotions changed, your experience of them would change, too. What happens when you stop to listen? When you address your thoughts with curiosity instead of coldness? Could the sense of community you've been longing for be found in befriending these, your own unruly tenants?

Turns out, you don't have to change as much as you think, to find yourself at home.

Feeling at home in your environment - inside, and out - is merely a matter of rearranging and reorienting. Demonstrating your own creativity and flexibility taps you into a different kind of security, a trust in self, and engenders a sense of belonging that you can carry with you anywhere you go. This puts you in an energy of trust, which helps you feel grounded and connected wherever you are - in other words, at home in any circumstance.

Opening your heart, opens you to space - opening to space, opens up your heart.
